Today we are going to add a second layer to our prayer flag projects.
Rule of thumb in mixed media is 6 layers of…whatever. It can be a combination of various paints and fabric pieces, ink layers or embellishments, modeling paste through stencils, and even clay pieces hung from a chain. But today we are going to focus on adding paper to our pieces. This can be done before the paint if you like, too. Often when paper is added to a mixed media piece, the edges are softened by blending them out with paint anyway. But for the piece that I am working on, I don’t want the paper to be lost within the paint, so I am going to add it now.
This video seems a bit lengthy…I apologize! I promise tomorrow’s will be shorter….I think 🙂
Enjoy the video, and don’t forget to find pleasure in the process of creating your unique piece of art. The journey of discovering your art voice is half the fun!
